The Yangdup Puja (Wealth/prosperity Generating Puja) is conducted every year at the monastery. This puja is mainly dedicated to the growth of BuddhaDharma, and generates merits to clear the sufferings of famine in the world.
For three days Yamantaka is propitiated in the early mornings to remove all obstacles. Then the various wealth deities are called upon and countless mantras are recited. In the afternoon the protectors are called upon to remove the obstacles that plague all beings and create the cause for each being to have the material means to survive comfortably.
This auspicious event is attended by the monastery’s senior monks, geshes and alumni. It is also dedicated to their long time generous benefactors whose consistent support keeps them going and allows them to spread the noble messages of the Buddha and Je Tsongkhapa.
